The serial ports allow the devices to be programmed via registers. The IAS acquires microscopic surface images via the lens and illumination system. These images are processed

by the DSP to determine the direction and distance of motion. The DSP calculates the Dx and Dy relative displacement values. These sensors are responsible for high-speed motion detection up to 30 ips and 20 g.
